Taylor Mali

Most people have probably heard a version of Taylor Mali‘s poem “What Teachers Make” on YouTube.  He has many other poems that have been viewed thousand of times, but one of my favourites is “I’ll Fight You For The Library”… probably because I work at a school library (the one this blog is for!).  The importance of having a school library is perfectly portrayed.  We are a meeting place, a classroom, a reading corner, a research facility, a quiet refuge, a study hall.  We are the first and last place you go to for information and help and educational support… and the first place to be cut from educational budgets.  And I just wanted to thank Taylor for bringing to light with this reading just how important a library can be.
